The Bay to Birdwood is one of the Adelaide Hills' most iconic and loved events. Congratulations on being part of the 40th anniversary event in 2020! It's going to be a little different this year thanks to COVID-19 and while we'll all miss the customary celebrations at the National Motor Museum we invite you make new traditions and explore the Adelaide Hills after arriving in Birdwood. Enjoy our food and wine, wildlife, galleries, gardens and markets while touring the region in your fabulous vehicles and fashions of the era.
We've compiled some highlights of the Northern Adelaide Hills, tips for visiting and supporting bushfire-affected communities, and other special events and offers across the region.
Wherever you are heading, keep in mind that capacity and services have been reduced at some venues due to COVID-19 restrictions so please book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Explore the northern reaches of the Adelaide Hills, from Inglewood and Paracombe to Mount Torrens and Mount Pleasant. Meet winemakers and have close encounters with wildlife as you travel through rolling hills, bushland, orchards, vineyards and farmland. Just a reminder that the National Motor Museum will be closed until 2pm on September 27.
Visit areas hit hardest by the Cudlee Creek bushfire last December including Woodside, Lobethal, Charleston, Lenswood and Mount Torrens. Join the 'empty esky' movement and stock up at wineries, breweries, distilleries, cideries, roadside stalls and local food producers (including a chocolate factory and cheesemaker). Or settle in for a leisurely lunch and browse the shops.
