The township of Hahndorf will bring the spirit of Christmas to life this year with the inaugural Hahndorf Christmas Village, a festive celebration showcasing the town's rich German heritage. From Friday 12 to Sunday 14 December, Main Street will transform into a Christmas wonderland filled with lights, family activities, live entertainment, and a diverse range of food and drinks. Visitors can explore more than 150 stores taking part in late-night trading, special offers, and festive displays, including Bracegirdle's, who will offer Christmas treats like Bon Bon Rocky Road and Advent Calendar Chocolate Blocks. Traditional favourites such as Glühwein from Eis Haus, bratwurst, pretzels, sweets, coffee, and local wine will bring the feel of an authentic European Christmas market. Families can stop by Santa's Hub at Comida for photos, crafts, and festive fun, while parents relax with seasonal food and drinks. The Gathered Christmas Design Market at Alec Johnston Park will feature over 100 South Australian makers offering handcrafted gifts, homewares, fashion, and gourmet treats. Over on the Hahndorf Academy lawns, visitors can enjoy creative workshops, performances, and interactive activities for kids. Roaming performers, musicians, festive zones, and gift-wrapping by the Lions Assistance Dogs team will fill the village with Christmas cheer all weekend.
