Rock Climbing and Abseiling

  • Morialta Conservation Park in Woodforde offers host of walking trails to suit everyone from the casual ambler to the experienced hiker, while the park's dramatic landscape also makes for excellent rock climbing opportunities. Scenic highlights include waterfalls, fern gullies, stringybark forests, creeks, gorges and ridges.

  • Earth Adventure runs rock climbing and abseiling tours in Morialta every fortnight, as well as private group bookings for four or more on request. Highly experienced guides, all equipment provided, and the views are amazing!

  • Rock Solid Adventure leads small groups in rock climbing and abseiling activities in Morialta, including options for beginners.

  • Learn the ropes (pardon the pun) and get some practice at Mount Lofty Adventure Hub (within Woodhouse Activity Centre) on their 15-metre Adventure Tower with Rock Climbing and Abseiling. Ideal for younger climbers, Woodhouse Adventure Park in Piccadilly has indoor bouldering walls as well as the outdoor Cameron's Climb with bouldering to suit kids to experienced climbers.

4WD Adventure

  • JAKEM Farm at St Ives offers four-wheel-drive tracks along the Mount Barker Creek and hills  that are home to kangaroos, wedge tailed eagles, ducks and turtles. Stay for the day or camp under the stars. Also features play equipment. Dogs allowed.

  • Eagle View 4WD Track in Sanderston offers spectacular and rugged beauty with rough scenic tracks and optional sections for more adventurous drivers. Bush camping available.

Mountain Biking

The hills of our region make for some pretty amazing mountain biking, having hosted range of national and local mountain bike, cross country, downhill and endurance races and a reputation as having some of the best trails in Australia. Highlights include Fox Creek Bike Park, Eagle Park Mountain Bike Park and the Mawson Trail.

Woodhouse Activity Centre

Woodhouse Adventure Park at Piccadilly is run by Scouts Australia but is open to everyone, with a range of adventurous activities and accommodation, including camping that provides fun for the whole family. The obstacle course on Challenge Hill is a major feature, and one of the best of its kind in Australia, providing a great test of physical fitness and mental agility as well as a perfect team-building exercise.

Adventure Hubs

Experience a whole new side of South Australia with Adventure Hubs SA. Beautiful forests, bush sanctuaries and rock gorges, with heart thumping, adrenaline experiences. Locally owned and operated for 30 years, Adventure Hubs locations are both open for the public and available for private group bookings throughout the year.

  • Mount Lofty Adventure Hub is located amidst the beautiful forests at Woodhouse Adventure Park and features an amazing 15-metre Adventure Tower with Rock Climbing and Abseiling, a 324-metre Forest Zipline, a 15-element High Ropes Challenge Course and 3-person Mega Swing. Don't forget to try out their Rock Climb, Abseil and Zipline experience or the all-new Rock Climb, Zipline and Mega Swing experience, available every weekend and during the school holidays.

  • The Southern Adventure Hub is located on the Girl Guides grounds at Douglas Scrub and features a 3-sided Rock Climbing Tower, a continuous High Ropes Challenge Course, a double 'Leap of Faith' Trapeze and a super fun mini Zipline. They run a Rock Climb and Ropes experience for the public every weekend.
